Analysis System of Endoscopic Image of Early Gastric Cancer

چکیده
Gastric cancer is a great part of the cancer occurrence and the mortality from cancer in Korea, and the early detection of gastric cancer is very important in the treatment and convalescence. This paper, for the early detection of gastric cancer, proposes the analysis system of an endoscopic image of the stomach, which detects abnormal regions by using the change of color in the image and by providing the surface tissue information to the detector. While advanced inflammation or cancer may be easily detected, early inflammation or cancer is difficult to detect and requires more attention to be detected. This paper, at first, converts an endoscopic image to an image of the IHb (Index of Hemoglobin) model and removes noises incurred by illumination and, automatically detects the regions suspected as cancer and provides the related information to the detector, or provides the surface tissue information for the regions appointed by the detector. This paper does not intend to provide the final diagnosis of abnormal regions detected as gastric cancer, but it intends to provide a supplementary mean to reduce the load and mistaken diagnosis of the detector, by automatically detecting the abnormal regions not easily detected by the human eye and this provides additional information for diagnosis. The experiments using practical endoscopic images for performance evaluation showed that the proposed system is effective in the analysis of endoscopic images of the stomach. key words: gastric cancer, endoscopy, endoscopic image analysis, IHb channel, analysis of color change

ENDOSCOPIC REMOVAL OF GASTRIC CANCER BY METHYLENE BLUE INJECTION METHOD: SUBMUCOSAL CANCER WITHOUT THE NON-LIFTING SIGN
A 59 year old man is presented with adenocarcinoma of the stomach. In order to evaluate for the presence of the non-lifting sign, methylene blue was injected 2 mm from the perimeter of the tumor. Since the tumor lifted, snare removal of the tumor was done, safely. Partial gastrectomy was performed 2 weeks after endoscopic removal of the tumor which revealed no residual tumor or lymph node ...

Gastric cancer remains the fifth leading cancer diagnosis worldwide, and it is the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality. The incidence of gastric cancer within the United States, however, has remained substantially lower than elsewhere, which has led to a lack of screening and surveillance in clinical practice. Patients with known premalignant lesions, such as gastric intestinal meta...
متن کاملThe Current State of Diagnosis and Treatment for Early Gastric Cancer
The prognosis for gastric cancer depends on its stage; so, detection in the early stage of disease is important, when complete and curative removal is possible. Accurate diagnosis can be facilitated by a sound understanding of the basic findings of white light endoscopy of early gastric cancer, and diagnosis can be refined further by the combined use of other imaging modalities such as image-en...

Background and purpose: Identifying precancerous lesions for early detection of gastric cancer is greatly important in high risk areas for stomach cancer. In this study, we evaluated stomach biomarkers as a non-invasive method for recognition of gastric precancerous lesions. Materials and methods: In a cross-sectional study, patients with chronic dyspeptic symptoms who were candidate for endos...
